My husband and I were married in July of 2015 and spent our honeymoon exploring Niagara Falls and New York City. That was our first trip to Niagara Falls and it was absolutely magical! I will never forget standing at the edge, hearing and feeling the rumble as the water went floating over the falls. This trip was truly incredible so I want to share it with you! Here are my top 4 favorite experiences from the trip!
1. Fallsview Hotel Room
Splurge for a fallsview hotel room. Trust me. It’s worth it. We flew into Buffalo and took a cab to Niagara Falls, Canada. We got to our hotel shortly after 1 am and couldn’t really see the falls because all of the lights were off. Our room was overlooking the falls, but it was pitch black. I will never forget going from excited to completely amazed as my new husband and I pulled back the hotel room curtains and saw the falls for the first time. It was overwhelmingly breathtaking. I would highly recommend getting a fallsview room so you can experience this for yourself.
There are several hotels to choose from but we were very happy with our decision to stay at the Niagara Falls Marriott Fallsview Hotel. Click HERE to go to their site.
2. Journey Behind the Falls
Journey Behind the Falls is an attraction that takes you up close and personal to the falls while teaching you about the falls. You take an elevator down into tunnels that lead you to a platform that is right up by the side of the falls. You can feel the power from all that water as the ground shakes beneath you. You’ll definitely want to grab a rain jacket because you WILL get wet! I’d highly recommend doing this because it gives you a view of the falls that you can’t get otherwise!

3. Hornblower Cruise
This one is a classic at Niagara Falls and is probably already on your list. My suggestion is to get in line early and try to get a spot on the boat at the very front railing. It was an incredible feeling to sail straight toward the falls. The boats can get fairly crowded and you don’t want anything to block your amazing view!
4. Sunset Dinner Overlooking the Falls
Nothing beats eating a good meal, watching the sun set behind the powerful Niagara Falls. I’d recommend making reservations at one of the many restaurants that have a view of the falls. These places book up quickly though, so make sure to make reservations in advance!
